Re. Region, Jim Coppock writes. “Toon Van Mierle is from Belgium and he wrote the tune. The dance that they intended for is called Gavotte de l’Aven, which seems to imply Gavotte from Aven. Pont Aven is definitely in the Brittany region of France.”  (French is the dominant language in Wallonia, the southern region of Belgium, and the Brussels-Capital Region.)
