*Notes: Two Sources on YouTube say about this tune’s composer,
“According to the Traditional Tune Archive: “Trowie Burn is a small stream in the Parish of Tingwall, having its source on the Hill near Loch of the Muirs, and runs north east until it enters Burn of Fitch. This beautiful air is attributed to Friedemann Stickle, the legendary Unst fiddler.”
and
“This trad. waltz was apparently written by a German sailor/fiddler named Friedmann Stickle who washed up on a Shetland beach sometime in the 1800’s. The story goes, he and his fiddle, were tossed overboard by the crew because he was not well liked and they were tired of his playing!”
